If you haven’t booked a hotel yet, and are worried about San Francisco’s high hotel prices, don’t fret. You still have a few options. Although the remaining blocks of rooms we had set aside for our guests have been released, you can still find good deals in the city. With just two weeks away, here are a couple last-minute options for hotels.
La Luna Inn – If you want to stay close to the Presidio without spending a ton of money, La Luna still has availability. It’s very close to the Lombard Gate of the Presidio, and it provides free parking and a continental breakfast. This is a 1960s-style, no frills, motor lodge that was just renovated. Phone: 415-346-4664. Rates: $90-$99.
Hotel Carlton – Another option is the Carlton, located 5 blocks from Union Square and 2 blocks from the California Street Cable Car. The Carlton is in the same group as other hotels we recommended. It wasn’t our first choice, but should still be worth the money. This hotel offers a shuttle to and from SFO. Phone: 415-673-0242. Rates: $110-$149.
