These last few weeks have been a blur.
Looking forward, I can’t see too clearly either. Please bear with me as I try to catch up and just breath. Things around here have been exciting and moving at such a fast pace, I just can’t keep up. Here are a few highlights from the last few weeks. If I owe you an email, I promise, next week!
The SF Giant Race: One of my life list goals was to run a 5k. I started training back in May when I realized my first race was coming up. However, that was derailed as other life needs took precedent. Translation: I didn’t make time to do it. So when it came time for the Giant Race, I wanted to back out, but I didn’t. I ran my first race last weekend and finished in 43 minutes. Not my best time, but not my worst either. Plus, it was fun.
Circle of Moms Top 25 Mom Blog Award: A few weeks ago I got an email letting me know my blog had been nominated as one of the Top 25 NorCal Blogs. I was super excited about this. I finally feel like I’m in a good place with my blog and really enjoy what I do. It’s so rewarding to be able to help families with their Disney planning and questions. There’s still time to vote. I’m currently #3 on the list, but so many other great blogs are gaining on me.
Growing Up Goofy Newsletter: Speaking of the blog, I’m starting a huge project that any Disney fan is going to love. I’m not sharing the details just yet, but for now you can sign up for my newsletter. Starting September 1st, I’m going to share “30 Days of Disney Tips.” These are the best of the best tips that I’ve never shared before. By the way, when you sign up for the newsletter in August, you’ll be automatically entered to win a $50 Disney Gift Card. Sign up now!
D23-The ultimate Disney fan club: In just a couple days, I’ll be heading down to Anaheim for the D23 Expo. I’m on a press pass this year and can’t wait to be there to hear about the future of Disney. I’m really excited to hear about the news, but I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you I was equally excited to see the Dream Store!
The Big “Five”: This should actually be #1 on my list but I’m in denial. Emma is turning FIVE this weekend. For those of you who have been with us on this journey, you understand why this is so hard to believe. It’s such a huge step forward. I knew this day would be here, I just didn’t know how fast it would come. In a couple of weeks I’ll be taking her to Kindergarten. If you need me, I’ll be the parent sitting in her car, rocking back and forth. Sigh.
On the bright side, we are going to rock “five years” with a Monster’s University party!
So. There you go.
Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be smothering my oldest child.
Pass the tissues.
