Years ago, you could walk around Disneyland and randomly encounter Disney Characters throughout the park. As the parks get more popular, those times seem long gone. Now, you need to seek them out at designated meet-n-greet locations and times. It may seem like you keep missing your favorite Character by a few seconds as they get whisked away to their next location. You might be looking for a specific photo opportunity with your child’s favorite Character. (Or maybe your favorite Character.)
Disney makes it easy to find out where your favorite characters will be throughout the day. Visit the Central Plaza board on Main Street in Disneyland, or the Information Station on Buena Vista Street in California Adventure to get up-to-the-minute details about your friends. If you have additional questions, a Cast Member is always available at these locations. Scheduled times and locations are also listed on the daily itinerary sheet obtained from each main gate.
Another great way to see a set of Characters is to splurge for one of the five Character Dining experiences. I heavily recommend making reservations in advance or your visit. Reservations are accepted for Ariel’s Grotto, Disney’s PCH Grill, Goofy’s Kitchen, Storyteller’s Cafe, and the Plaza Inn. This is a great way to see how your little one feels about meeting their friends in real life. To make dining reservations, contact Disney Dining at 714-781-DINE.
