Disney dining, is it right for you?

Is Disney dining right for you?

For those of you who purchase packages through Disney or other travel planning services, you may be able to purchase a Disney Dining Plan. These plans don’t offer a discount, but are intended to help budget in your meals. These plans are purchased along with your package, and vouchers can be used inside the park and at Disney hotels. You’ll be able to select your dining plan, but most offer enough for three meals a day, plus a snack. continued

Following my own advice

It’s been a couple of months since I published my book, 101 Disneyland Tips. If you already bought it, I hope you have enjoyed it. I’ve been reading the reviews on Amazon and I’m really humbled with the feedback so far. It’s great to see that the book has been helpful to many people already. So, if you’re at all thinking of going to Disneyland any time in the future (or would like to just dream about going) and you haven’t yet, you should buy the book now! continued

Make-ahead crockpot freezer meals

If you’re like me, you may have found many great recipes on Pinterest. People are really creative. I’ve been wanting to try a few make-ahead crockpot meals. I’ve wondered how long it would take to prepare and store meals like this.

Today, I got the chance to find out. I went through several recipes I found online. I picked the ones I thought my family would enjoy. Once I got the grocery list together, I headed out to the store. Surprisingly, I had a lot of ingredients already, making this project easy and affordable.

First I washed my veggies, then began cutting everything up. The prep was done in no time. After creating an assembly line, it was easy to get the meals packaged up. In less than two hours, I had ten meals ready to go into the freezer. continued

Dining at Disneyland

Dining at Disney can be expensive. Very expensive, but if you plan ahead you can get the most out of your dining experience. If you buy your package ahead of time, Disney Dining might be the best way to save in the long run. By adding a dining plan to your package, you will budget in your dining costs and pre-pay for your meals. The dining plan will only save you a few dollars, but it keeps you from over spending during your resort stay by helping you budget and be aware of what you’re spending for each meal.

One of my favorite things to do with the kids is the Character Dining at Disneyland and California Adventure. It’s a great time to get the kids to eat while they get to visit with several characters. Each character will make it to your table and you will have the perfect photo opportunity. Character Dining is available at several locations throughout the parks and hotels. continued

Red Mango

Yesterday we went on a hunt for frozen yogurt. My husband and I are really trying to cut down on our fat intake. So ice cream was out of the question. I really couldn’t remember where to find a yogurt shop, so I used Google Maps. It provided us with results for a Baskin Robbins and this place called “Red Mango.” I got really excited because I had read several reviews on Yelp and wanted to try it for myself. continued

Ad Hoc

My husband and I planned our dinner reservations at Ad Hoc around the famous “fried chicken” night. We couldn’t have been happier with the menu. Everything was served “family” style with unlimited portions. The wait staff was friendly and the decor is light and airy. It’s simple just like the menu. continued

Bouchon

We’ve been to Bouchon in Las Vegas — but that was for brunch on a Sunday morning. This was our chance to test Keller’s Napa version for a true dinner. We made reservations 2 months in advance to make sure we got in during our Napa vacation. Afterward, we walked away pleasantly content after a delicious multi-course meal and a polished French dining experience. continued
