Family meals with Sun Basket

I’m sure we are all running on the same fumes these days. By the time we pick up the kids, go to after school activities, and do homework… well we sometimes forget how to include dinner in that mess. We really don’t like eating out that much, so I’ve been trying different meal subscription options to save our dinnertime routine. It’s taken a while, but we have finally found Sun Basket to be one of the best out there.  continued

Sheet pan meals. dinner is served.

School is starting up again. Now that we have two girls in school, I find myself trying to get back in the kitchen on a regular basis. If you’re anything like me, you’re running around like crazy trying to find extra time in the day just to get things done. With two active kids, I need as many short cuts as possible. Dinner has always been the hardest part of my day, and I have found a way to make it easier on everyone. The sheet pan.

Holiday cheer with Marley’s coffee

Marley coffee

One of the best times of the year is when we can all get together, sit down, and catch up. Over the holidays, a group of us were able to do just that, thanks to Marley Coffee. Nichole, from In These Small Moments, came to my house and we hosted a “Holiday Cheer with Marley Coffee” party. continued

Quick and easy butter cookies

Butter Cookies

Over the weekend, I was feeling under the weather. In fact, I’m still not 100%, but I knew I had an event coming up that I had to bring a holiday cookie. Normally, I wouldn’t care too much and bring a pre-made something. However, this was Girl Scout leader meeting, so I might have felt a little bit of pressure to bring something homemade. continued

Disney dining, is it right for you?

Is Disney dining right for you?

For those of you who purchase packages through Disney or other travel planning services, you may be able to purchase a Disney Dining Plan. These plans don’t offer a discount, but are intended to help budget in your meals. These plans are purchased along with your package, and vouchers can be used inside the park and at Disney hotels. You’ll be able to select your dining plan, but most offer enough for three meals a day, plus a snack. continued

Best cup of coffee at Disneyland

Best coffee at Disneyland

Anyone who has visited Disneyland in recent years knows that Disney hasn’t (historically) done coffee very well.  In past years, I can’t count the number of times that I’ve had a mediocre to undrinkable cup of coffee at Disneyland. However, I’m happy to report, with the newly renovated Carnation Cafe and Holly Jolly Bakery, things have improved dramatically. I can now enjoy a nice cup of coffee with a fresh pastry, or perhaps some Mickey Mouse waffles. continued

Mickey shaped beignets

Mickey beignets

A trip through New Orleans Square wouldn’t be complete without a stop at the small Mint Julep Bar, just behind the French Market Restaurant, to enjoy a few Mickey-shaped beignets. These fried, puffy, Mickey-shaped, donut-like treats are dusted in powdered sugar, were brought to Disneyland from New Orleans. The powdered sugar does a great job covering each beignet with sugary goodness. continued

Dining must: Smoked turkey leg

The Turkey Leg at Disneyland

For meat-loving Disney guests, the smoked turkey leg is a must-try, at least once. Disney sells over 1.5 million turkey legs each year. You’ll inevitably see guests walking around enjoying these moist, savory treats that taste like a cross between bacon and smoked ham. Turkey legs are huge, and I’m sure people question whether they’re really turkey. I’ve been assured that they are 100% turkey. I just don’t often think about turkey legs being this large. continued
